More model informationMany thanks to John Surginor for providing access to this artefact. It was found when a ditch was being cleaned out by a farmer in the Lecale area of County Down.
Investigations have shown that this is probably a carpenters spitting wedge. several would have been used to split wood along the grain. The loop would have been used to retrieve the wedge after splitting.
