This is a 3d view of Ishtar Terra and surrounding regions on the planet Venus, showing how this area of Venus might appear if you could see through its thick atmosphere. The colouring of the terrain is from a map I designed to be how a true colour map of Venus could look, based on the colouring seen in surface lander imagery. The white seen on the mountains is a metallic snow which falls all across Venus at high altitudes.

Ishtar Terra is the northern most ‘continent’ of Venus, and is named after the Mesopotamian goddess of love and war. In the centre is the mountain chain named Maxwell Montes, of which a peak (Skadi Mons) is the highest point on the planet’s surface at roughly 11km (36,000 ft) high.
