Vintage 1940s Urasaki Hakata Doll from the Moseley Homestead Collections, said to be a gift of General William Carter in 1943. This piece is a biscuit-fired ceramic figurine. The Hakata doll was popular as a gift from American soldiers who took them home as souvenirs during the American occupation of Japan following the Second World War.
