A stylized Japanese well complete with bamboo cover. Bucket not included. (I genuinely forgot about it until just now.)
This project put me through hell a dozen different ways. I had to start over on the roof tiles (not the top, center ones) once, and then later Maya royally screwed up the UVs of those tiles, forcing me to revert to an earlier state of the project where every UV map was generated by ZBrush. Luckily, the tiles were the only problem, and I was able to restore the nice UVs of everything else.
I learned a lot during the course of this project. First and foremost is ZBrush doesn’t keep UVs when merging subtools by default (must toggle on for every subtool every time). Manual UV mapping is a must (ZBrush does okay for more organic meshes, but not for something like the body of this well or the tiles), and Maya is still a buggy mess. Never change, Maya. Never change.
