This jar was buried in a saisobo (reburial grave). Saisobo is a grave in which a corpse that has been buried once is re-buried in a jar after it has been turned into skeletons. Saisobo is a common burial method, especially in eastern Japan during the middle Yayoi period. The neck of this earthenware is divided into three stages. Jomon (cord marks) are applied to the top rim, the middle row has a puncture marks, and the lower row has a triangular pattern. On the upper half of the body of it, a rhombic pattern is drawn, and on the connection part of it and in the center, a circular pattern with a puncture marks are drawn.
