Finally my Game Asset Pipeline exam is done! It’s far from perfect, but it helped me learn a lot to improve my projects in the future. For the exam I learned to work with Plasticity to create the highpoly. This stage was rough and I made some mistakes that I will learn from for the future. The lowpoly was made in Maya and the whole weapon was textured and baked in Substance Painter. The weapon is an original idea made by me, I started with just a bunch of sci-fi weapon references, mostly from Star Wars. Then I took to photoshop and created a bunch of different photobashes which I eventually chose one from and refined that one to this. The philosofy for designing the gun was also taken from Star Wars. I wanted to start from a base revolver and add a bunch of stuff to it to make it look futuristic, as good as every part of the gun is a repurposed existing item.
