The model of this jug fragment was created by participants of a Photogrammetry course run in conjunction with the #Roowijk1740 project.
It shows that a detailed model of an object can be created in a relatively short time and a fairly high quality can be achieved after minimal instruction. Further practice and experience will create detailed models that are useful for recording archaeological finds and investigating them further.
In 2016 Dutch and British archaeologists undertook a survey on the site of the Dutch East Indiaman Rooswijk which showed it was at high risk. To address this a team has come together from Historic England and the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) to undertake an archaeological excavation in summer 2017.
