Kanéisdi Shaa - Mt Verstovia

Kanéisdi Shaa in Lingit means Cross Mountain. It is named for the Russians that were set on putting a cross on the mountain. The name Verstovia comes from the obsolete unit of measurement, the Russian Verst which was equal to about 3500 feet. The pointy summit with the rock-face that points toward town is also commonly referred to as Arrowhead. The elevation at the summit is quite near to 3353’. This is how the mountain looked in April 2019. This mountain is easily accessed via a trail off of Sawmill Creek Rd about 3 km East of town. I made this with a Mavic 2 Pro, Pix4D Model, and Blender.
