The western end of Nordenskiöld Land in 1936, among else encompassing the surge type glaciers Fridtjovbreen and Grønfjordbreane. Just east in Grønfjorden lies the Russian town of Barentsburg.

The 1936 model is made from 85 aerial oblique images, taken by Norsk Polarinstitutt, and 97 GCP’s derived from modern data.
