More model informationCompletely preserved roman casserole made of silver. On the disc handle is the inscription DIAN(E). The casserole was probably a votive offering to the goddess Diana. Silver; L 18,8 cm; 2nd half 1st century AD.
The casserole served for scooping, measuring and cooking. It was also used as a drinking container and was part of a legionnaire’s field kit. Normally, cassaroles were made of bronze.
