3D Model

Scanned with a combination of Artec Leo and Artec Space Spider, this highly-realistic 3D model of a kayak is a clear example of using multiple professional handheld 3D scanners for an otherwise challenging project. The kayak itself has dozens of components with exceptional levels of detail, hence the need for more than one scanner. The Leo quickly captured the kayak in high-resolution 3D in 5 minutes of scanning, and minutes later, the Space Spider took submillimeter care of each and every one of the approximately 60 components. ZBrush was used to model several of the soft elements of the model, including the kayak’s cordage, which is wrapped around the circumference of the watercraft. Processing in Artec Studio 15 software took just 13 minutes.
