Litologija: Debelozrnat eklogit z velikimi rdečimi granati, svetlozelenim omfacitom v osnovi in modrimi podolgovatimi zrni kianita.

O nastanku kamnine: Eklogit je bimineralna metamorfna kamnina, ki jo sestavljajo granati (največkrat je to pirop ali z Mg bogat almandin) in klinopirokseni (omfacit - Na-Ca-Al-Mg klinopiroksen). Za eklogit je značilno, da nikoli ne vsebuje plagioklaza. Od pogostih mineralov v eklogitih najdemo še kianit, rutil in kremen. Presežek Al v protolitu, ki se ne more vključiti v granat in omfacit, kristalizira v eklogitu kot kianit.

Eklogit nastane s pretvorbo iz gabbrov ali bazaltov pri regionalni metamorfozi pod vplivom visokih do zelo visokih tlakov in temperatur. Poenostavljeno lahko pretvorbo gabbrske ali bazaltne kamnine v eklogit zapišemo z enačbo: olivin + labradorit + diopsid = omfacit + granat + kremen.
