More model informationKierfea Hill is an Orkney-Cromarty round cairn placed high on the south face of Kierfea Hill, on sloping moorland. The tomb was excavated by Walter Grant in 1940 and left open to the elements. It survives as a turf-covered mound about 27 ft in diameter with a maximum height of five feet. The passage is 8 ft long and the chamber 12 ft long, is divided into three compartments by two pairs of transverse slabs.
Sherds of three carinated bowls, sherds and a worked flint chip from this site are in National Museums Scotland.
