Saint Sincheall founded Killeigh monastery in the sixth century. A Franciscan Abbey formerly the site of an Augustinian Priory (OF025-017003-) was incorporated into a modern guest house (OF025-030----) and a C. of I. church still in use, all of which stands on the site of the monastery. At the eastern end of the Franciscan Friary on the northern side are the remains of a stone-vaulted chapter house which was reused as a turf shed by the Tarleton family of Killeigh Abbey House in the 19th century. This 3D model shows the partially ivy-covered face of the eastern wall of the chapter house with a broken out window visible in the centre of the wall. This opening was created to allow access for a turf cart when the chapter house was converted into a turf shed in the 19th century. Small square-shaped putlog holes or wooden beam holes for a scaffolding can be seen side of the broken out window.
