More model informationOn the west wall of Casement 15 at the Castillo de San Marcos is an area that contains historic graffiti incised into the coquina and plaster by Kiowa Plains Indians who were incarcerated at the National Monument. The graffiti likely dates to around 1870 and its faint lines have faded and have been impacted by moisture and surface spalling over the years. Our 3D laser scanning and imaging of these carvings are used like a map of the wall to assist managers in knowing thhe extent and condition of the carvings and our 3D models and renders are utilized by the National Park Service as part of conservation and interpretation efforts at the site.
