More model informationAn impressive carved rock stored at Kirkdale House (Kirkcudbright, Dumfries and Galloway) for the depth and regularitiy of the grooves that compose the several cupmarks with multiple concentric rings depicted. As with the other examples here, the provenance of this stone is unknown, but it was probably recovered from the area. The motifs were carved with deep grooves and all the cup-and-rings have radials pointing in the same direction. At some point in its biography the rock was broken, which is visible in the truncated motifs.
