More model informationThe first device which establishes a try in the direction of the diving suit itself, a date of year 1797. It was invented in Germany, by certain Klingert, by Breslau. June 23rd, 1797, in the presence of a large number of curious, certain Frédéric-Guillaume Joachim, threw himself into the Oder, dressed in this device, and went to saw a tree trunk at the bottom of the river. It is enough to examine one moment the model of the diving suit of Klingert, to realize imperfections of similar things and little of help which we could pull to stay at the bottom of the water. This invention did not thus make a fortune; only it put on the way of the experiments and the practical attempts.
