KT12 - Bow

Bow of the German, armed cargo ship KT12 (Kriegstransporter 12) sunk on the 10th of June 1943 by the British submarine HMS Safari.

The wreck lies at 30m depth in the proximity of Orosei (Sardinia).

The rest of KT12 is located approximately 300 meters away from the bow, scattered along the seafloor.

This scan was created as part of the “Clean the Gulf Project 2024”, an initiative aimed at documenting and mitigating the impact of ghost nets and other marine debris on underwater heritage sites. In particular, the model highlights the removal of ghost nets entangling the ship’s anchor windlass, helping to preserve and restore this historic wreck.
