More model information

This is not the original “La Danse” of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, but a copy by Jean Juge in the façade of Opera Garnier in Paris, while the original one is in Orsay Museum since 1988. There were models of “La Danse” in Sketchfab, like jks_rnr’s one (https://skfb.ly/CAOJ) - the very same model in Opera, or Geoffrey Marchal’s one from Copenhagen, Denmark (https://skfb.ly/FzGu). Nevertheless, there is a pleasure to take photos myself. 65 photos of 24MPixel are taken in Sunday morning the July 26th, 2015 with my Sony A6000 and 19mm prime lens. I like to add some context, so there is pedestal and stair of the Opera.

There is a presentation from Khan Academy about the sculpture : https://youtu.be/3ZGmMTNyW0k

Comparing to the model of jks_rnr uploaded several months ago, there is one thumb missing (for real) in a hand of a nymph, what’s a pity.

Another chef d’oeuvre of Jean-Baptiste Carpeaux, Fontaine de l’Observatoire in Paris: https://skfb.ly/DVZK (downloadable now)
