Il Lazzaretto di Ancona, detto anche Mole Vanvitelliana, è un edificio di Ancona progettato dall’architetto Luigi Vanvitelli. Sorge su di un’isola artificiale pentagonale situata all’interno del porto. È collegato alla terraferma da tre ponti e occupa una superficie di 20.000 m². Il canale che lo divide dalla terraferma è detto mandracchio.

The Mole Vanvitelliana, also known as Lazzaretto of Ancona, is an impressive pentagonal building designed by Luigi Vanvitelli, which sits on an artificial island in the harbor, and is connected to the mainland by three bridges. It covers an area of 20,000 m². The channel that surrounds the building is called mandracchio.
