Dennis and I found a steamer 20 miles off Oswego on June 2, 2024 that we believed to be the T.J. Waffle but it may actually be the City of New York.  We’re not sure which one it is yet.  In May of 2025 the Lake Guardian was on the lake with NOAA and its partners at the Ocean Exploration Cooperative Institute and the University of Rhode Island when they found another steamer, that may be the actual T.J. Waffle.  If it proves to be true then this wreck is the City of New York.  Extensive research is currently ongoing to positively identify these two sites.
