One thousand one hundred forty one years ago King Raghav Deva ruled Kathmandu( then Kathmandu was called Nepal). During the reign of that King, a commoner SanghadharSakhwa after collecting sands at a river bank in the valley found gold in it. He, with new found fortune free local people of debt and with the occasion a new era(calendar) was established. The name of the new calendar,replacing existing one, was called Nepal Samba. The place Sankhadhar Sakhwa found the furtune still does exist and is known by Lakha Tirtha(Tirtha is a holy place at a river bank, where many relgeous and cultural activities are performed to date). Lakha Tirtha is situated at the confluence of the Vishnumati and Bhadramati(Lun Khusi) rivers. The place is full of ancient Chivas as well as Budhhist shrines still existing beutifying the place, making the place holy.
