This is one of three parts of a 3d-printable educational model of the Lambda Bacteriophage. Bacteriophages (or phages) are viruses that infect bacteria and archaeans, and they are thought to be, by far, the most numerous biological entities on Earth!

This Model Represents the tail, of the phage. It is designed to be 3d-printed and assembled with the two other models in this collection, which represent the base and the capsid (head) of the phage.

Phage Lambda infects the bacterium Escherichia coli (E. coli); it is a member of a large and important group of viruses known as the Siphoviridae.
