When I was in primary school, I took my little Jawa to school one day, and lost him at lunchtime on the playing fields. I was really upset and my mum called my dad while he was at work, to see if he could pick up a new Jawa from the toyshop next to Eastcote Station.
The toyshop was clean out of Jawas, but they did have this Land of the Jawas vehicle diorama, which came with … a Jawa!
Some 42 years later, this dusty old box is still in my attic, and most of the bits have been lost. I keep thinking to throw it away, but as both my parents have now passed away many years ago, this crappy old bit of plastic and cardboard is still connected with a precious memory.
My first step toward clearing it out, is to scan it for posterity. We’ll see if I get past stage one!
