More model informationSince 1993, the Max Schubert-Warte has been located at the exact centre of Lower Austria. The observatory was erected in memory of Dipl. Ing. Max Schubert and opened in the presence of Dr. Otto von Habsburg. The centre point of Lower Austria was calculated on the initiative of Dipl. Ing. Hannes H. Schubert, son of Max Schubert, from more than 18,000 border points of the province of Lower Austria. On the occasion of Max Schubert’s 100th birthday, the observatory was completed and presented to the public on 23 August 1996. The 3D model shows the exact centre in the form of a marble pedestal framed by the outlines of the state border.
