Lang Stane, Auquhollies (Ogham/Pictish)3D Model
The Lang Stane of Auquhollie is an Ogham inscribed stone with a Pictish Symbol some 6km NW of Stonehaven, Aberdeenshire and is in sight of the sea. It is 3m Heigh and 0.75m in diameter. Accoring to Francis Diack (1925) the Ogham inscription reads ‘Avuo Anunao soothsayer of Dovenio’. The Pictish symbols are to the right of the top of the Ogham inscription and have been described as two small circles connected by two bars. These were not visible to the eye at the location but are clearly visible on the matcap model. There may be parts of circles beneath this Pictish Symbol. The stone is coveredin lichen which makes visibility of inscriptions difficult and also hide detail in the 3D model.

Although the Canmore record states the Ogham inscription has been recut is bears an exact representation to the drawing by F. Diack in 1925.
