More model informationDiodrone recently completed an aerial topographic survey of a large railway cutting in the Blue Mountains, West of Sydney. A number of ground control points were established along the crest and track level throughout the 1300m long section of corridor. In order to capture surface topography data along the vertical and near vertical faces of the cutting, and due to various obstacles existing within the required flight path, the survey was flown manually by a pilot controlling a quadrotor UAV fitted with 12MP camera. A total 2250 oblique images were taken, over 8 flights, for photogrammetric processing into a number of deliverables.
