LAR Grizzly is a series of Magnum semi-automatic handguns built on the 1911 platform, where at the time of introduction was the most powerful handgun produced. Early variants were built on modified Colt 1911s to allow for chambering of .45 Winchester Magnum rounds. Conversion kits were also made specifically for the Mark I to allow for acceptance of other calibers. Later variants introduced Mark IV and Mark V for .44 Magnum and .50AE respectively to compete with the Desert Eagle.
