Saulo Moreno models skulls, skeletons, devils and animals in wire that are partially covered in paper to create the effect of objects in partial decay. Moreno’s Souls in Purgatory borrows from a these introduced into Mexican culture during the 16th century recalling the memory of ancestors and the recently departed.
These are draft photogremmetry scans designed for the “Communal Spirit: 3,000 Years of Mexican Artistry” exhibit in Virtual Reality on Valve’s Destination’s platform, to be published in February 2017.
Unmeasured, piece was approximately 18 inches in diameter and 18 inches tall. I’ll update with accurate dimensions when I fix a measurement bug in my software and get back to a point in this render pipeline, thanks. - Greg B.
