The large number of postcards exchanged from the very beginning of the war led the state to produce postcards that already contained a message. In this way, the message could be spread easily and on a large scale. This was a means of propaganda.
These postcards were purchased by the soldiers themselves. By choosing one of these cards, a soldier also expressed his opinion and intentions—for example, showing that he wanted his family to support the war effort.
