The plaster model of this sculpture was acquired in 1887 by the City of Paris. The group of bronze exposed here is acquired in 1888 and installed in the park in 1891. Georges Gardet was born on October 11, 1863 in Paris. He is the son of a sculptor. At the Beaux-Arts in Paris, he is a student of Millet and Frémiet.
