More model informationThis sheet of lead was used to cover the touch hole of a cannon on board a ship, which helped to protect the powder and fuse from sea spray. This one was recovered from the Needles, Isle of Wight (UK) in the 1960s by Martin Woodward.
The real artefact is currently on display at the Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum.
