The Last of Us has left behind a wide variety of feelings. But the most important of them is the feeling of questions without answer. With the main menu of the first game as reference, I´ve always wondered what´s the backstory of that scene. That frozen moment which the only difference with the start of a new game is the absence of Ellie´s knife. Well, I´ve imagined a possible explanation of it, with a very simple element… the monster keychain, which also disappear in the second game… with everything that Ellie has to left behind in her battle for survive a new day.
This model was an experiment, trying to simulate a particles animation. Very simple, but efficient.
Completely made in 3ds Max and texturized with Substance Painter & Photoshop.
