Lehman Point - Secwepemc Museum 3D Model
Lehman Point of the Secwepemc Museum & Heritage Park
This Lehman Point is dated 6500-3500 BP. These points were used as spear points during the Middle Period of Plateau Prehistory. People during this time were adapting to a semi-permanent habitation cycle as the Plateau Pithouse Tradition was beginning at 4500 BP. One factor to this shift was the availability of salmon as a predictable and reliable food source. (BP is a radio carbon date calculated counting back from 1950; for a BC date add 2000. ie Lehman 6500-3500BP = 8500-5500 BC)
