More model informationBuilt on the original site of Leiston Abbey after it had been removed stone by stone to the current location in 1363 and is believed to have been used as a chapel to St Mary until the dissolution in 1563. Early in the second world war the gable ends were removed and a defensive pillbox built into the surviving remains. Both buildings are now scheduled ancient monuments.
