Lestodon armatus was one of the biggest ground sloths in South America during the Pleistocene. This sloth is commonly found in fossil sites in Uruguay, and this ungueal phalanx (CAV-820) comes from the Arroyo del Vizcaíno site near Sauce, Uruguay.
