Levenwick Broch, Shetland Isles Scotland.
Levenwick broch is situated on the margin of fertile land (west) and the rocky coast (east). The broch is about 18 metres in diameter and stands up to 4 metres high. A stairway within the wall shows to broch was once much taller. A wheelhouse was built into the centre of the broch in a later phase of use. Immediately outside the broch to the west are the remains of outbuildings, some of which appear top be multi-celled. The centre of the broch was cleared of debris by G Goudie in 1869, many of the features he uncovered have again been obscured by further collapse of the broch.
