More model informationThe 125 ft wooden twin screw tug Leviathan was built in 1857. There is a discrepancy in the historical records as to whether it was 125 ft or 175 ft long but 175 ft seems large for a tug. It went through several rebuilds and reconfigurations which were photographed and are in the historical records. It burned to a total loss at the dock in Cheboygan in 1891. It was then raised and any usable equipment salvaged and towed out and scuttled. Today it sits in 12 ft of water outside of Duncan Bay near Cheboygan, MI and is moored annually for divers and kayakers. The model was created from 1,221 30 megapixel images taken on one DPV dive by Ken Merryman in the 2023 season.
