Why is there a lighthouse overlooking seemingly innocent fields? Well, because these are not particularly friendly fields. Scientists can’t even agree on the nature of the anomaly: are people getting lost in space or time, do they fall into another world or is this place messing with human perception? What with the echoes? Why are the skies all wrong? Either way it’s not THAT deadly and the way around just takes too long, so everyone figured it’s worth the risk. Plus the weather around the place tends to be pleasant no matter the season, even with the occasional rains. There are three lighthouses that seem to improve chanses of survival.
