A lined finish is similar to scratched and grooved surfaces but the cuts, or lines, are more regular in both spacing and depth.The edges of the cuts are also sharper, or more distinctly squared. The lines’ depth, width of cut, and distance between them can all be specified. Machine-carved lined finishes provide low or non-slip surfaces when applied to pavers but their most common use is as a design element on veneers. Surface roughness typically varies from smooth (1/64-1/16”) to somewhat rough (1/16-1/4”), but are not limited to these specifications.
