Loaf of Bread Scanned with Qlone3D ModelNoAI
I found a smartphone 3D scanning app that works: Qlone.
It’s free if you just want to look at models, $2 per file export, $1 each for a 25-pack, unlimited $30. High for an app, but it’s the best I’ve seen for what it does.
It scans still single objects about 1” to 1’, not rooms or buildings or selfies or cats. It’s not trivial to use, the app isn’t really finished and documentation is poor, you want a turntable and lighting setup for good results..but it works. This is like the 5th scan I did while figuring stuff out, and I’m sure it can do better. As a veteran of many cheap scanners, this is shockingly good for a phone app.
This scan was done in two poses using a handheld Galaxy S8, desk lights, and a lazy Susan. No back mat. Pro tip guys: the flickering dome is caused by the app not being able to see all 4 corners of the mat. If your model is blocking the far corner, print a bigger mat.
