More model informationThis is a fragment of a timber log boat discovered in 1874 in the River Forth near Cambuskenneth Abbey, not far from Stirling.
This boat was flat-bottomed and double-ended. Otherwise known as a dugout canoe, its simplicity does not necessarily equate to an early date. Most examples of log boats recovered are medieval or later.
