This 3D model of a log cabin located in Tampa, Florida was made from 237 pictures taken from a DJI Phantom 4 Pro by Joshua Torres and Cory Draper. The model was then processed on Reality Capture.

Torres and Draper, both undergraduate students of USF’s Zimmerman School of Mass Communications and Advertising, chose the site because it was “an abandoned cabin, so interferences were little to none. Showing the beauty of the exterior and allowing viewers to appreciate the structure, rather than touching on it being a poor construction due to the termite infestation was our goal. Find beauty in the ruins.”

This model is part of Access 3D Lab’s collaboration with Ryan Watson’s Drone Videography and Digital Storytelling class.
