“I love you to the end of the universe and back“

The “Love Birds” is a unique pair of swans gifted by my aunt to my parents more than 20 years ago. Interestingly enough, they are made of betting slips (not sure why, probably because they were freely available) that have been folded and stacked on top of one another by hand, creating this interesting texture on both the outside and the inside of the swans. I hope that by digitising this unique model, it can be preserved forever even after the betting slips have completely degraded.

This pair of love birds is created by duplicating and reflecting the completed swan to form the heart shape. For the swan, a chunk for the swan+top half of the cork board and a chunk for the bottom half of the cork board are merged. The cork board has a 4.5cm radius and the maximum height of the swan is about 17cm from the base of the cork board.

The model is made with a total of 229 photos taken with Sony a6300.
