The Gothic City Hall was most likely wooden, had two towers and an exterior staircase. A stone Gothic structure was built between 1409 and 1419. After it burnt down in 1575 it was once again rebuilt, this time in the Renaissance style. From 1578 to 1794 it housed the Crown Tribunal. In 1787 Domenico Merlini renovated the city hall in the Classical style. Officials left the building in 1828 and moved into a city hall at King Łokietek Sq. Renovations of the building took place in 1836, 1876 and between 1911 and 1912. Until 1939 the office spaces were used by the provisioning office and a library. In 1987 after renovations the old city hall was turned into a wedding hall.
