More model informationA forgotten Lucy box on The Avenue, opposite The Common near the Cowherds pub, Southampton, Hampshire. These boxes were originally used for connectiing tram networks and would have been installed circa 1903 to facilitate a tram extension along The Avenue to Highfield. The name ‘Lucy box’ derives from the Lucy Foundry in Oxford that manufactored them. This box features elegant linear designs that terminate in crosses on two of its sides. Sadly, it has be graffitied but much of the spraypaint has weathered away leaving trace colours which gives this box a unique character.
