The M18 Colored Smoke Grenade is a US Army grenade used as a ground-to-ground or ground-to-air signaling device, a target or landing zone marking device, or a screening device for unit maneuvering. The device has seen many iterations since its production during World War II when it was designated standard issue during the fall of 1943. The M18 was designed to supersede the M16 which was already produced in multiple colours however it was decided to limit the M18 to only 4 colours (red, yellow, green and violet), however, during the Vietnam War it was discovered that the violet variant had a more toxic mixture and was removed from the inventory after the end of the Cold War in the 1990s. Also, it was found in Southeast Asia that the green smoke drove swarming bees away!
Due to the modular fuse box, this model was briefly designed to improve my baking and texturing skills.
