More model informationThe M551 Sheridan was a AR/AAV (Armored Reconnaissance/Airborne Assault Vehicle) that was pressed into service during the Vietnam War as a light tank. Tank crews loved it for not throwing off its tracks as often as the M48A3 and being lightweight enough that it doesn’t get stuck in the mud as often, but it was disfavored by higher ups for being made out of aluminium and thus vulnerable to literally everything hostile which lead to very high combat losses.
