Manabashima Lighthouse (間鼻島灯台) is a small white lighthouse standing on a rocky islet off the coast of Nakatsuhamaura, in Minami-Ise, Mie Prefecture, Japan. Built in 1970, it stands about 10 meters tall and emits a white flash every 4 seconds. Despite its modest size, it continues to guide local fishing boats through the narrow passages of Gokasho Bay.
The lighthouse is not widely known but can be seen from shore. It is often visited by kayakers and SUP riders, and is especially beautiful at sunset when it creates a striking silhouette against the sea and sky.
This 3D model was created as part of the Tokiwatari Project, an effort to digitally archive Japan’s lesser-known cultural and landscape heritage using photogrammetry and drone photography. By preserving remote structures like Manabashima Lighthouse in 3D, we aim to share their quiet presence and cultural meaning with a wider audience.
