Marathon-class Heavy Cruiser

My rendition of the Marathon-class Heavy Cruiser from Halo. Most of the thrusters and turrets were removed to simplify the appearance and reduce the file size.

I may/may not texture this.

The Marathon-class heavy cruiser is a heavy capital ship classification in the UNSC Navy. It is best suited to front line combat duty alongside other cruisers like the Halcyon.

As time went on and the Halcyon cruiser proved to be a mostly fruitless investment, the UNSC needed a new, more economical and effective standard cruiser. Thus came the Marathon, armed with two MAC cannons and more than twice the Archer missiles. Along with her firepower, her modern reactors provide more than enough power, making her fast as well as maneuverable, and cheaper to build than the Halcyon. However, when the Covenant attacked, it was discovered that these valuable cruisers, while easily capable of destroying Covenant ships, could not handle very much damage from the enemy’s plasma weaponry.
